Restaurant Tycoon 2 is based on a restaurant management game. With over seven hundred million visits, it is a successful successor to the original Restaurant Tycoon game created by the same developer.

In Restaurant tycoon 2, players must embark on a journey to establish a successful restaurant and satisfy their customers. When the player first logs in, they have to scout around to find a piece of empty land for them to claim. After claiming it, they can create their restaurant by selecting a restaurant design from the available presets; they also have an option to choose up to two players as managers for their restaurant.

While setting up the restaurant, the players can choose a country to base their restaurant food on. And from that moment the customers start rolling in, the player takes the order from them and fulfills them. The player can cook the food by themselves or hire a chef. If they hire a trainee chef, then the chef must watch the player cook at least five times before they can start cooking.

The player starts with one item on their menu. Even the trays can be upgraded, which allows the player to carry more food. Gradually with the earned money, the player can furnish, renovate and hire more staff as they develop their restaurant. There are quests, too, which, upon completion, reward the player.

The player’s level gets up at the end of every in-game day, the stats are displayed, and the exp is added to the player. Leveling up unlocks new dishes and features; with their assistance, the player takes one more step in their journey to build a restaurant that could make even Ramsay proud.
